“Youth Evangelism”
“Youth Evangelism”
Acts 17:15-34.
First, thank you all so much for being here at The Comeback.
It’s truly an honor to be involved in this.
I want to take just a few moments to share a little about me
The Role of the Christian
What is my role?
Sow the seed. Share the gospel.
as believers, we must be:
Stirred to Action
What we’re about to talk about is so important.
Speak the Truth
What is the gospel?
Paul went into Athens and shared the truth.
Look at the flow of this:
He started in the synagogue and found no luck.
He then goes into the market places like all the Greek teachers and shared the message of the gospel where the Greeks would discuss philosophy or have business transactions.
The role of the Christian is to share the gospel.
There will be people that oppose the Word, mock you, but there will also be people that receive the Word and believe it!
The Recognition of the Crowd
Who am I trying to evangelize?
Paul knew who he was talking to!
The Greeks had two major philosophies that controlled Athens way back when:
The Stoics - their system built on pride and personal independence. Nature was their god, and they beilieved nature was on it’s way to a great climax. Materialistic in their thinking. Pantheistic.
The Epicureans - desired pleasure and their philosophy was grounded in experience, not reason. Most were atheistic.
so Paul preached Jesus and the resurrection (Anatasia)
Generation Z. AKA Gen Z. AKA - iGen.
5 percent hold a biblical worldview. they are the first post-Christian generation in the Western hemosphere, likely, ever.
Two major economic recessions and the war on terror.
